Ford Explorer

The first trim model available in the Explorer family is the base model. While it is a base model, it is still stocked with a great engine and a number of innovative technology features. Under the hood, you'll have 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. So, you'll be able to adventure on in power!

On the inside, you'll find the signature FordPass Connectä 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot system. Not only will this provide you excellent connectivity, but when paired with a mobile app, will afford you remote access to your SUV.

Ford Explorer XLT

The Explorer XLT is the next model up in this vehicle family. It adds a great convenience feature. Using the Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, you'll be able to seamlessly open and start your SUV.

You rear passengers will also appreciate the dual second row smart charging USB ports. When equipped with this, you and your passengers will be able to easily re-charge your multimedia devices.

The XLT also adds LED Signature Lighting on the exterior, adding increased style on the outside.

Ford Explorer Limited

In the Explorer Limited, you'll have the option to choose between the standard 2.3L EcoBoostÒ engine and a 3.3L Hybrid engine. If you elect to go with the hybrid, you'll be rewarded with great output figures like:

  • 318 horsepower
  • 322 lb-ft of torque
  • Improved fuel efficiency

There are quite a few additions to the interior of this Explorer, as well. For instance, the B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen. This comes with 12 speakers that will deliver tone that reigns true throughout the SUV's cabin.

This Explorer also comes with leather seating surfaces with micro-perforations and accent stitching. This will enhance style and comfort on the interior.

Ford Explorer Timberline

If your adventure leads you off the beaten path, the all-new Ford Explorer Timberline may be the trim level for you. It offers improved ground clearance plus increased approach and departure angles compared to every other trim in the Explorer line.

This Explorer is built from the ground up for off-roading. Steel underbody skid plates and a 3.58 TORSEN® Limited Slip Rear Axle offer more protection and more capability when you dare to take on the trails!

The Timberline finishes off with unique badging and, inside, Deep Tangerine stitching. With the style and performance required for adventure, this trim level is truly something special.

Ford Explorer ST

You'll find an additional engine yet in the Explorer ST. Under the hood of this SUV, you'll find a 3.0L EcoBoostÒ engine. This powertrain will arm you with 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, providing premium sport and performance.

As you use the SYNC® 3 system with Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation for features like BluetoothÒ, you'll need to charge your phone back up. In some other trims you'll be able to do so with normal USB ports, but in this trim, you'll be able to do so easier thanks to the wireless charging pad.

The Explorer ST also comes with a heated steering wheel. Using this, even on the coldest day, you'll be able to hit the road in comfort right away.

Ford Explorer King Ranch

The Ford Explorer King Ranch is in a class of its own thanks to its Del Rio leather seats. These surfaces add luxurious comfort and premium style to your SUV and feature unmatched craftmanship.

You'll also enjoy the Multi-color Ambient Lighting on the interior. Using this, you'll be able to set the mood for your upcoming drives.

You'll have a number of great features on the exterior as well. For example:

  • LED Fog Lamps
  • Quad Chrome Exhaust Tips
  • Hands-free Foot-activated Liftgate

Ford Explorer Platinum

The most premium Explorer available is the Platinum model. It comes with features that mirror its name like the tri-diamond perforated leather seating surfaces with accent stitching. These surfaces ensure great comfort, but they also create an open, free-flowing cabin experience.

This interior atmosphere is furthered by the Twin-panel moonroof. Rain or shine, you'll be able to let plenty of light in with this.

The Ford Explorer: Consistent Safety

These trims all prove different in a number of key areas. However, when looking at safety and assistive technology, you can expect a consistent experience for the most part. All of the Explorers come with:
