Mike Absher
Dealer Principal
mike.absher@marionford.com
I was born and raised in Marion. Apart from living in New York while in the Army, I’ve lived my whole life here. I now live south of Marion now with my wife, three boys, 3 dogs, and a host of other critters.
I started in the car business part time cleaning the shop when I was 12. I started full-time in 1989. I had a ‘sabbatical’ from 2003-2006 when I started a software company that sold software to car dealers. I got back into the car business on 2/1/2007 when my wife Cheryl and I purchased Marion Ford Hyundai.
My only active hobby is playing the trumpet, usually at local churches with some friends of mine from high school. I have played the trumpet for 30 years and enjoy it very much. I have some “inactive” hobbies that I hope to resume someday such as woodworking. I would also like to be on a S.W.A.T team, but I think I am past the maximum age. I still dream about that one though and hope that some municipality will waive the age thing for me, especially since I know the theme song so well.
I have three wonderful boys that are active in scouting, gymnastics, little league baseball, playing with the neighbor boys, digging holes and wrecking ATV’s. My wife Cheryl is a non-practicing attorney. She does a terrific job of guiding the boys through their misadventures and generally making her fourth boy’s(me) life a living blessing.
When I decided to get back into the car business, I pursued working at Marion Ford Hyundai the hardest. The people of the dealership and their abilities amazed me then, as they do now. Historically in the car dealership business there has been very little longevity of tenure. But at our dealership, the place is full of energetic, focused, long-employed smiling people. Many of our people have been here 20+ years. I believe our customers can feel our energy as soon as you step in the door, and I believe it makes the difference. I am proud to be a small part of it.
Brad Poole
General Manager
Brad Poole
Brad graduated from high school in West Frankfort in 1987, but he’ll be the first person to tell you that he is from Ohio. Brad still wears Buckeye underroo’s -- the underwear that’s fun to wear. After high school, Brad attended John A. Logan College and then transferred to SIU, graduating in 1991. Although Brad had never considered selling cars, he found a home at Marion Ford Hyundai.
Brad has worked at the dealership for seventeen years and has held the positions of Salesperson, Body Shop Manager, and Sales Manager; he is currently the dealership's General Manager. Brad has never used the phrase “not my job.” Ensuring that our employees and our customers are happy is Brad's primary goal.
Brad has a "can-do" attitude, and he always, always practices forward motion, never allowing life or any situation discourage him.
When Brad isn’t working, he is mowing, playing sports, watching sports, or putting an obligatory beat down on Mark Vandeveer in golf every Sunday. However, his favorite pastime is spending time with his bosses, his wife Melanie and his daughter Mackenzie.

Craig Questelle
Sales Manager
Craig and his family are true Harrisburg Bulldogs. He and his wife ,Amy, both graduated from Harrisburg high school. They now reside here in Marion with their two sons, Noah and Wilkey. Craig began his automotive career with Ford Motor Company 18 years ago as a regional zone manager in Seattle Washington. During his 12 years with Ford, he spent time in the Dallas, Dearborn, and Orlando regions. However, he always knew when it was time to have a family, he would find his way back to Southern Illinois. That’s when Marion Ford Hyundai struck gold. Craig became the sales manager here in August of 2005. Since that time, he has used his extensive knowledge of the car business to help thousands of customers get the best possible experience at Marion Ford Hyundai. When Craig isn’t here helping someone do their job better, or helping a customer get all the rebates and incentives they qualify for, he is at home getting schooled by his 5 year old son Noah playing Wii. Craig’s energy and optimism is contagious and he makes everyone around him better.

Russ Brown
Used Sales Manager
It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s, it’s, Russ Brown! Straight from Metropolis, Russ has been a huge part of Marion Ford for two-and-a-half years. With twenty-three years of experience in the auto industry, Russ sure knows his way around anything with a steering wheel. When he’s not appraising trade-ins here at the dealership, Russ is working hard to make sure that any request for a vehicle is met. Whether it’s phone call after phone call, or driving to another state to inspect a vehicle, Russ can get it done! In his spare time, Russ is an avid fisherman. When Russ drops a line, they never get away! He also enjoys Cardinals baseball. The most important things in Russ life are his wife, Carol and children Kyle & Caden.

Ron Vaughn
Business Manager
Ron was born and raised in Marion, IL. Ron was hired two weeks after we opened our doors, over 35 years ago. Needless to say, he has been at Marion Ford Hyundai longer than most of us have been alive. Ronnie started out selling cars and continued to do so for over 20 years. He began helping in the finance department about 15 years ago and backed up several business managers along the way. Then in 1999 we realized, that we had the perfect man for the job all along. His wife ,Jane, and two children, Amanda and Blake, have helped him remain sane through so many years in the car business. Even after 35 years in the car business, Ron’s number one focus is still his customers. If Ron isn’t at the dealership, he’s at home yelling at the Nascar car drivers on t.v. every weekend. We really think he believes they can hear him. Ronnie is usually very mild mannered until you suggest in any way that racing is not a sport. Ronnie’s dedication to Marion Ford Hyundai and his customers is truly outstanding.

When Julie is able to get some time away, she loves traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

John Slone
Easy Street Sales
Lease Specialist
I.T. Guru
John “Sloneholio” was raised right here in Marion IL. John started his career in the car business here at Marion Ford Hyundai 9 years ago. Although John’s main role is in the sales department, he actually has more job titles than anyone at the dealership. He is the I.T. guy, the Easy Street delivery guy, the Point of Sale guy, the emergency finance guy, and the product knowledge specialist guy. When it comes right down to it, John is just a “hell of a guy”! Fortunately for Marion Ford Hyundai his customers love him as much as we do. Because of his “no problem” attitude, he has developed an excellent repeat and referral customer base. His wife, Somer, is also a long time employee at Marion Ford Hyundai as well. She is a part-time receptionist here as well as a grade school teacher in Ewing. There is no question that John’s greatest fulfillment at work comes from helping so many people, especially his customers.

Marion Ford Hyundai: Body Shop
John McKeown
Body Shop
tel:1-800-225-2161
John was born and raised in West Frankfort, IL. John has worked his way up the ladder. He started working at Marion Ford Hyundai 7 years ago as a greeter while we were under construction and doing some major remodeling. Shortly after seeing his gift to handle customers, we moved him to the body shop as an assistant to the manager. After basically doing all the work for the two previous Body Shop managers, John finally got his shot to run the show. We couldn’t be happier with John’s accomplishments in the Body Shop. His employees love him and the customers love him. John’s greatest love is for his two beautiful daughters, Mirabella and Sarafina. When John isn’t yelling at Barry for doing something goofy, he spends time with his “girly Q’s” and working on his new home with his fiancé’ Lori. John is the life of the party at Marion Ford Hyundai.
